October Newsletter, Autumn’s Promise Assisted Living

October Newsletter, Autumn’s Promise Assisted Living. As September came to a close and the weather became cooler, we enjoyed working on different projects to bring in October and Fall!

In September, we began our cookbook club. We are planning a meal and starting our recipe book. We enjoyed homemade milk shakes on a sunny afternoon. Residents reminisced about hunting and fishing while looking at “opening” bow hunting weekend pictures. We shared our knowledge on the USA and talked about our past vacations. We ended September by making and enjoying homemade salsa and a cold beer!

Autumns Promise continues to welcome new Residents and Staff as our “family” here continues to grow!    See you soon!

We wish you all a happy and safe Halloween!

September Newsletter, Autumn’s Promise Assisted Living

September Newsletter, 2014

Our lovely Jar Aquariums!

August has flown right by! As someone reminded us on August 25th
There are only 4 months until Christmas!

Last month we enjoyed visiting, bingo, and cookies with the Summer Stretch group from Pilgrim Lutheran! In our September newsletter, we have a lot to share with you. All Residents have successfully tried new ‘socials’ such as orange creamsicles, cupcakes, Hawaiian parties, and s’mores! We have been feeding the birds with our own homemade bird feeders too.

We continue to make posters for others to see our views on a variety of topics. These posters are on display in the activity room. Our favorite creations last month were “no maintenance” Jar Aquariums that are placed throughout the building for viewing!

Autumn’s Promise is excited to be welcoming New Residents and additional Staff in the weeks to come! We continue to invite family and friends to join us for all of our activities, socials and games! Hope to see you sometime this month!

We wish you all a warm and happy end to the Summer!

Happy Autumn!

“About Me” Life Timeline

As Autumns Promise continues to grow and much pride is taken for knowing our residents and staff, we would like to begin a project. Part of our staff-resident one-on-ones we would like to begin an “about me” or a life timeline of our residents. Each staff member is paired with a resident, and will spend 1-3 days a week with them for 10-20 minutes. During this time we would like to get to know them. We need your help as their family member to bring in pictures and any other information to get to know your loved one. We will make posters of their “about me” or life timeline. We believe this is truly important for memory, social aspects, and reflections. This will give your loved one a chance to re-tell their life, events, and accomplishments in a 1-on-1 setting. After information is collected, together they will use their creative skills to put together a poster. After the poster is complete as a group we will discuss and reminisce together. We will be completing this during July. Any information, pictures, awards…etc. that you are able to provide us will be much help!

Thank you!!!!!

Any questions please see Nicole or Sam. 🙂

United Healthcare VolunteersWe would like to send another “Big Thank You” to all the volunteers from United Health Care. As we were bummed by the rain, we couldn’t have asked for a better day! Starting with three dozen donuts, one-on-ones to just sit and chat, then followed by beading jewlery, Rummy 500, cribbage, and a big game of Bingo…by lunch we were exhausted!

Thank you again for making our day enjoyable and memorable!
